How long does it take NVC to review documents?

NVC states it takes 30-60 days to review case file after documents submitted. You can contact the NVC directly as indicated in your letter(s) from them.

How long does NVC usually take to complete?

It's important to understand the NVC process can be completed in as little as 60 days if the case is properly prepared and submitted. If not, the process can be delayed for many months causing immigrating family members to remain in limbo for no good reason.

Does NVC send all the documents to the embassy?

Once the NVC has received all of the forms and documents, they will review and schedule a visa interview appointment. The NVC then forwards the case file containing the petition, forms and documents submitted by or on behalf of a visa applicant, to the Immigrant Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy, Tokyo or the U.S. Consulate General, Naha where the applicant will be interviewed. How long does it take NVC to process AOS?

The NVC does not process AOS. You should have submitted the AOS if eligible for AOS to CIS. CIS normally takes 4 to 6 months. If you are proceeding through consular process, the NVC normally takes 2-3 months.
